Zombies are one of the most popular mobs in Minecraft. They are hostile and will attack players and animals on sight. Today I’ll be discussing a topic that’s sure to be of interest to all Minecraft zombie-lovers out there – What do zombies drop in Minecraft?
For the uninitiated, Minecraft is a hugely popular online game that allows players to explore, build and create in a seemingly limitless digital world. One of the many enemies players will encounter in their travels is zombies.
When you kill a zombie in Minecraft, it may eventually drop rotten flesh, a carrot, or a potato. Once your zombie falls into an item, you should try picking it up as soon as possible before it goes missing. The article can be beneficial and should be stored in your inventory.
Note: If a condemned zombie wears armor or carries a weapon when killed, it will also drop these items. However, this should happen very rarely!
What do zombies drop in Minecraft? Explained!
When killed, zombies fall off 0-2 pieces of rotting flesh. A player can eat rotten meat, but there is an 80% chance that it’ll give the player food poisoning (the Hunger Effect).
Rotten flesh can safely heal and breed tamed wolves without any risk of the wolf being poisoned, as wolves are resistant to rotting flesh poisoning.
Players can trade rotten meat with a cleric villager for their vegetables and fruits. Players can also gather vegetable drops from zombie spawners from a dungeon. They may be able to create or supplement a garden readily.
Zombies are less likely to drop shovels, swords, carrots, potatoes, and armor (if equipped). The looting craft increases the probability of these items falling. Zombies can drop chain armors while spawning. These items can only drop from zombies killed by a player.
How can you make zombies drop items?
Zombies usually do not drop things randomly. To make them drop items, you have to kill them. When you kill them, they fall a rare item via charged creeper or a tamed wolf.
Uses of Minecraft zombie droppings
Zombies drop a wide range of items, some more valuable than others. I’ll be listing them from common to least common.
It’s not very useful for the players, but every killed zombie drops 0-2 of it. The number can increase with looting. But you can use the meat to feed and tame your wolf for healing.
They are rarely dropped by Minecraft zombies, i.e., only 2.5%. Iron ingots are helpful for players in many ways.
Carrots and potatoes
Carrots are the least valuable in giving hunger back to the player. But you can use them for brewing for one portion with a 2.5% drop rate (same for potatoes).
Potatoes are a bit more helpful in giving hunger back 3 times (compared to carrots).
- Hitting a zombie with a charged creeper will help to drop its head.
- When zombies die, they drop all the armor and tools.
- While zombies spawn with armors and tools (which can be enchanted.), they have an 8.5% chance of a drop.
- Halloween zombies will sometimes be costumed as carved pumpkins, resulting in an 8.5% drop.
The simple answer to the question, “what do zombies drop in Minecraft?” is 0-2 pieces of rotten flesh and the drop chances increase with looting. The number rises to 0-5 with three lootings, whereas the most common drop is meat, carrots, iron ingots, and potatoes.
